House Church is a collective gathering of people who live out the teachings and practices of Jesus. We’re committed to learning and living the Bible. We eat together. We live life in community. We live generously. We invite others to experience the life-changing reality of Jesus.
We gather on Sundays to worship together and prioritize gathering in homes throughout the week to live out as part of a community that is truly “church”.
We are committed to living out the Good News of Jesus.
We do this by prioritizing these characteristics within our church.
We prioritize simplicity in our worship gatherings because we believe that what people hunger for most is a real and authentic experience where they can hear from God and be loved by people. Our gatherings are characterized by simple worship that doesn’t distract but allows people to enter into the presence of God so they can hear from Him through song, prayer, and His word.
Jesus followers have always been transformed primarily through engaging Him in His word, the Bible. Because we believe that’s the best source of our transformation, we prioritize teaching it dynamically in all our environments in age-appropriate ways. From our kids to students to adults, we emphasize understanding the truth of the Bible so that it can be lived out effectively.
It’s refreshing to be real. The beauty of God’s grace in Christ is that it frees us from our brokenness and empowers us to live transformed lives. But that’s a journey, and we’re all on it. None of us have it all figured out, and since none of us have it all together, we don’t have to pretend that we do. Authenticity means that we can be ourselves while also being changed into who God created us to be, no masks required.
Church isn’t a program or a service; it’s not something you watch or consume. Church is a group of people you belong to. Jesus gave us a great gift when He designed the church to be a relational gathering where we can be known and loved by others. There’s a place for you at House Church to be connected into a real community, not just a service.
Jesus was welcoming to all. He gave His full attention and prioritized every person He encountered. His earliest followers built the same practice of hospitality into their communities, and we strive to do the same today. Whether it’s at our Sunday Gathering or at one of our house gatherings, we practice the art of hospitality towards any one who joins us. For us, hospitality is the art of making anyone feel loved and at home when they’re with us.
Jesus’s earliest followers shocked the world with their radical generosity toward one another. They sacrificed greatly to proclaim the Good News of Jesus and care for each other in times of need. We believe that should still be a hallmark of His followers today, so we commit ourselves to being generous with all that God has entrusted to each of us.
These are the core beliefs that we hold to as central to our identity as a church.
We believe that there is one true living God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They exist as one and share the same nature, attributes, and perfection.
God the Father is the creator of the universe and is a personal God who desires a relationship with all people. He is a supernatural being who has always existed and will always exist. He is the ruler of all creation who hears and answers prayer. He is perfect in all that He is and does.
Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son. We believe in His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, and that He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King and Lord.
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in becoming like Christ in our thoughts, words, character, and actions.
The Bible is God's Word to all people, written by human authors through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth and authority for all Christian beliefs and living. It is inspired by God without error.
All people are born into sin and separated from relationship to God. In our brokenness we also make choices (called sin) that are disobedient to the desires of God and detrimental to human flourishing as He intended. We believe in salvation only through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. After accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are able to have the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
The true Church is composed of all people who trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Believers are united together in the “Body of Christ,” of which Jesus is the head. House Church is a group of believers who have organized themselves to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples of Jesus in a specific manner. Our church is responsible to provide opportunities for fellowship, growth, teaching, and serving by using one’s spiritual gifts as given by the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth. Every person was created to be in relationship with God.
At the moment we become Christians we are baptized into the Body of Christ, and this spiritual baptism is completely sufficient for the believer. The physical act of water baptism by immersion after accepting Christ as personal Lord and Savior is not needed for salvation or spiritual standing, but is a person’s testimony of death to sin, and resurrection to a new life in Christ.
